Prof. Hassan Vatanparast from University of Saskatchewan, Canada and Prof. Vijai Kumar Gupta from Dublin City University, Ireland will attend NEXSUM 2024!

The world faces complex and interconnected challenges that require a holistic approach to sustainable development.  The nexus approach recognizes the interdependencies and synergies among the various sectors, including environment, energy, food security, sustainability, and climate change.  By understanding and addressing these interlinkages, we can create effective strategies and solutions for a sustainable future.
Nexus Summit: Sustainability in a Changing World (NEXSUM2024)  is jointly organized by MOMENT ALPHA Sdn Bhd a startup located at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), co-organized by International Association of Management Science and Engineering Technology (IAMSET).  The conference which will be held during July 24-27, 2024, aims to bring together experts, scholars, researchers, policymakers, industry professionals, and students from around the world to navigate the nexus of carbon neutrality, environment, energy, food security, sustainability, and climate change.

The NEXSUM Organizing Committee is honored to invite Prof. Hassan Vatanparast from University of Saskatchewan, Canada and Prof. Vijai Kumar Gupta from Dublin City University, Ireland to participate in this conference and deliver speeches!

Dr. Hassan Vatanparast is a jointly appointed professor in the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition and the School of Public Health at the University of Saskatchewan. His Research Areas are Global Health and Sustainable Development Go, Nutritional epidemiology with emphasis on nutrition-related non-communicable diseases, Public health nutrition and community-based health promotion, Nutrition, culture, and health status of at-risk population, particularly immigrant, refugee, and Indigenous populations and Analysis of complex health survey data. Hassan is actively involved in research and health promotion initiatives targeting children's health and chronic diseases. He is leading several projects at the local, national and global levels aimed at improving the nutritional health of the general population, new immigrants and indigenous communities. He and his colleagues have published several papers and presented their findings at national and international conferences. Hassan and his colleagues continue their collaborative work with the goal of improving the nutritional health of at-risk populations.

Dr. Vijai Kumar Gupta holds a doctoral degree in Microbiology and the expert in the area of Biomass Valorisation, Microbial Biotechnology, and Environmental Sustainability.  He is the Secretary of European Mycological Association and also the International/ Visiting Professor of- Institute of Food Science and Technology & South China Botanical Garden, China;  Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam;  Szent István University, Hungary; Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, India.  He is a Fellow of- Linnaean Society, UK; Mycological Society of India;  National Academy of Biological Sciences India;  Indian Mycological Association;  Academic Member of Mexican Academy of Sciences, Arts, Technology and Humanities, Mexico, Fellow of Academy of Microbiological Sciences India and Member of Royal Society Biology, UK. He is the Grant Evaluator for the International Funding Agencies including European Science Foundation; NWO, The Netherlands;  AgreenSkills, France; Endeavour Fellowships, Australia;  Minerva Weizmann Projects Program, Israel. He has established intense international research and academic collaborations. He has several publications in his hands and also the editor of few reputed journals including Biomolecules-MDPI, Microbial Cell Factories, Scientific Reports, Microbiome, and Biotechnology Advances. His challenge focussed research aims to develop technologies to valorise available bioresources and its potential to address the key challenges in the agri-food-pharma-energy and relevant sectors. He will be focused on- microbial glycobiotechnology, biomass to biorefineries towards sustainable product development and bioprospecting of bioresources.
